A Fairy Garden

Lately I’ve been intrigued by the idea of fairies and thought it would be fun to create my own little fairy garden.  It’s simple to create your own fairy garden.  There’s no need to purchase expensive materials at a store.  Here’s what I did.

First, I decided that I wanted to add to a small container garden.  Half of it was dirt and it needed something to fill up the space. Here’s the before photo:

I went for a walk and gathered various items such as:

  • rocks
  • twigs
  • snail shells
  • bark
  • plant pods
  • mulch
  • pine cones

Items I had at home included

  • twine
  • glue gun

When I got home, I took some of the moss living next to our house and transferred it to the pot.  I broke a twig into many different pieces and created a ladder.  I used a glue gun to glue all the pieces together.  I took the items from my collection and thought about how I could place them in the container.  It was fun mixing things around and seeing how it looked.  In the end, this is what I created:

I hope this inspires you to create your own fairy garden.  There’s nothing like having a little bit of fairy magic in your home!
